Straight answers

Everything people ask, in one place.

How does quoting work?
Send a photo and rough sizes by phone, WhatsApp or the form — repairs and small areas often get a fixed written figure from that. Full lawns get a free measure-up with samples, because access, levels and the grass you choose decide the price. Either way, the figure quoted is the figure invoiced.
What actually happens during an installation?
Old lawn and topsoil out and taken away, compacted free-draining base in, laying course screeded smooth, weed membrane down, then the grass — joins glued and pinned invisibly, edges fixed hard, sand dressing brushed in where the pile calls for it. Most gardens take one to two days.
Is artificial grass OK for dogs and kids?
It is why most people buy it — no mud, no bald patches, soft dense piles, and urine drains through like rainwater. Pet-spec grasses and deodorising infill handle heavy dog use; shockpad underlay adds fall protection under climbing frames.
Does it drain, or will I get puddles?
Installed on a proper base it drains faster than a real lawn — the backing is perforated and the stone base soaks water away. Puddling artificial lawns are base failures, which is why the dig-out is not optional with us.
Will it look fake?
Cheap grass does. Modern quality piles mix heights and tones — including brown root threads — and read as a well-kept lawn from a metre away. Judge from samples in your own garden, not photos: we bring them to every measure-up.
How long does it last, and what maintenance is there?
A quality pile on a proper base keeps its looks well over a decade of family use. Maintenance is minutes: an occasional brush to keep the pile standing, leaves off in autumn, a rinse where pets go. Mowing, watering, feeding, moss and mud all end.
Is artificial grass environmentally friendly?
Honestly: it is a plastic product replacing living turf, and anyone claiming it is green is overselling. What is true: no mowing emissions, no watering, no feed or weedkiller for its whole life — and a quality install lasting fifteen years beats cheap turf replaced twice. If wildlife lawn matters most to you, artificial grass is not your product, and we would rather say so.
Can you go over my existing lawn or concrete?
Never over a living lawn — it dies, sinks and ruins the levels. Over sound concrete or paving, yes: a levelling layer and the right fixing make patios and courtyards quick, excellent jobs.
What areas do you cover?
Loughborough and all of Charnwood: Shepshed, Quorn, Barrow upon Soar, Sileby, Mountsorrel, Rothley, Anstey, Syston, Birstall and the villages between. No call-out premium inside the patch.
Are you insured?
Yes — public liability insurance is in place, and RAMS, insurance documents and DBS-checked installers are available for schools and commercial sites.
